Parkinsons Exercise Group

About the program:

For many living with Parkinsons Disease, treatments have been focussed on time-limited symptom management. However, there is evidence to suggest that exercise can play a role in reversing some disease in persons with mild-moderate PD. This outpatient group provides specific exercises to not only manage symptoms but modify Parkinsons disease through neuroplasticity. Targeting increased participation and efficiency through specific amplified movement and general reconditioning, and of course, by making it fun!

The program aims:

Each patient is assessed individually by our rehabilitation team under the direction of an accredited Rehabilitation Specialist, who together will develop a rehabilitation plan according to the individual’s particular needs. Our multidisciplinary team will work with each patient to help them regain independence and resume their day to day life.

This program may include:

After a consultation with our Rehabiliation Specialist, an individualised program including strength and cardiovascular training will be made to help you regain independence and resume daily activities.
